Product description

Cimarrón Reposado Tequila is an artisanal, additive-free spirit originating from Atotonilco El Alto in the Highlands (Los Altos) region of Jalisco, Mexico. Produced at the legendary Tequileña Distillery (NOM 1146) under the direction of Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca, Cimarrón was created to deliver an uncompromising, traditional tequila at an approachable price point. It is widely celebrated among bartenders and agave purists as one of the ultimate value-to-quality benchmarks in the tequila industry.

Spirit Description

Cimarrón Reposado is crafted from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agaves cultivated on high-elevation hillside fields. The agaves are slow-roasted in low-pressure autoclaves and extracted using a proprietary waterless crushing technique to preserve natural sugar concentration. Following natural fermentation with winemaker's yeast, the liquid is double-distilled utilizing a unique blend of column-still (approx. 80–90%) and copper alembic pot-still (10–20%) distillates. The tequila rests for 3 to 6 months in uncharred American white oak barrels to gently round out the spirit without overpowering the core agave character.

  • Colour: Pale straw gold with bright, luminous highlights.

  • Aroma: Inviting and agave-forward, opening with cooked agave sweetness, baked apples, and light citrus peel, backed by soft vanilla, warm cinnamon, and a gentle earthy woodiness.

  • Palate: Balanced, dry, and soft on the entry. Upfront notes of rich roasted agave and honeyed sweetness give way to subtle dark chocolate, toasted nuts, cinnamon red-hot spice, and light barrel oak.

  • Body: Medium-bodied with a smooth, clean, and slightly silky mouthfeel.

  • Finish: Crisp, warming, and medium-long, closing with lingering black pepper, baking spices, dry earth, and sweet agave.

  • ABV: Bottled at 40% (80 Proof).
