For over 180 years, The Dalmore has set the standard in multi-cask maturation. Hand-selected casks from the world's finest bodegas and wineries are expertly curated to create a sumptuous and layered whisky of legendary finesse.
2023 sees the first release of The Dalmore Cask Curation Series - a series of annual limited releases, featuring sets of three aged whiskies. This release highlights The Dalmore's longstanding partnership with the Gonzalez Byass family of sherry-makers, and their exclusive access to some of their finest casks. The distillery archive contains documents dating this partnership back to at least the early 1900s, with the Sherry company sending casks from the Jerez region of Spain to The Dalmore's warehouses on the banks of the Cromarty Firth.
The long voyages of these casks served as inspiration for the packaging design for The Dalmore Cask Curation Series. Hand-crafted in leather in Florence, the beautiful packaging evokes the spirit of travel, and acts as both carrying case and display case for the trio of bottles.
This set of three contains one bottle each of the following:
The Dalmore 26 Year Old Vintage Sherry Finish 1996
Orange blossom honey, apricot, Madagascan vanilla and cacao on the nose. Taste of golden raisins, mandarin citrus, iced cherry cake, and sugared almonds. It finishes with fresh baked brioche, light roasted coffee, crystalized ginger, and warm vanilla.
The Dalmore 28 Year Old Matusalem Finish 1994
A nose of rich, dark fruits, Manuka honey, liquorice, and star fruit with an addition of sweet tobacco. On the palate, Antique Sherry-soaked raisins, Old English marmalade, marzipan, and liquorice. Waves of dark cherries, molasses, dark chocolate, and cassia bark on the finish.
The Dalmore 43 Year Old Apostoles Finish 1979
The nose is scented of warm honey, roasted chestnuts, sun-kissed raisins, and Seville orange. Tastes of sweet Madagascan vanilla, dark forest fruits, crushed almonds, and dark chocolate. The aftertaste is of freshly baked brioche, grilled pineapple, and blood orange, with a long, sweet cinnamon finish.
