Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Hautes-Cotes de Nuits 'Le Clos du Prieure' 2017
The Hautes Côtes de Nuits "Clos de Prieuré" comes from limestone and white marl soils that tends to ripen earlier than the others, according to Thibault Liger-Belair. It offers a more austere and reserved bouquet at first, but soon opens with attractive red cherry and chalk dust aromas. The palate is energetic and sorbet-fresh on the entry, lively and brisk with a taut line of acidity, with the finish quite reserved in style but very focused and long in the mouth.
The nose is quite rich and fleshy. On the palate notes of ripe and rich stone fruits, notably cooked plum and cherry juice, can be found. The tannins are intense but at the same time soft and fine.
