The Chardonnay grapes for this generously flavoured white, are grown in vineyards planted on the rich, sandy loam soils of Lodi, located at the top of California's Central Valley region. Here the vines are bathed in warm sunshine for much of the growing season and the grapes reach full ripeness easily. After harvesting and fermentation the wine is French-oak aged for about three months. Tropical fruit and green apple show on the nose, backed by toasted oak spice, the palate finishes with notes of zesty lemon.
