Product description
A pretty, deep-ruby core fading to a brick orange rim, aromas of dark fruit, wild strawberries and plums, on the palate elegant and refined with a supple texture, more ripe strawberries and plums, a little earthy and tarry, but, really, the fruit dominates more than the spicy notes. With a long finish marked by fresh acidity this is really charming.
Brasato piemontese, roasted game and aged cheese.
96 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Truffle, camphor violet and ripe berry aromas come together on this fragrant red. Full-bodied and full of flavor, the delicious palate doles out juicy Morello cherry, raspberry compote, baking spice and star anise while firm, refined tannins provide support. Bright acidity keeps it balanced.
95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Packaged with a black label, the Fontanabianca 2019 Barbaresco Bordini delivers the goods with a bright, fruit-driven bouquet layered with dried cherry, licorice and mild spice. The precise focus of the bouquet is what stands out most in this classic vintage, along with the wine's firm and linear mouthfeel.
94 Points - James Suckling
Sophisticated aromas of nutmeg, dark berry, dried meat, citrus peel and dry earth follow through to a full-bodied palate with polished, chewy tannins that give length and tension to the wine. Plenty going on here.
94 Points - Wine Spectator
Tightly wound, with a compact matrix of tannins putting a grip on the cherry, raspberry, mineral, tar and tobacco flavors. Shows energy, along with a kernel of ripe fruit that lingers on the long aftertaste.
91 Points - Decanter
Ripe red fruit, some cloves and sweet spice. There is some weight, dusty quite rustic tannins, crisp acidity. A lively peppery finish keeps it zesty and fresh.
