Fratelli Alessandria 'Monvigliero' Barolo 2019

12 units available online.
Product description

Located in a charming XVIII century house boasting a simple yet imposing architecture, just by the historic centre of Verduno town, the winery was founded at the beginning of XIX century. Today the owner Gian Battista together with his wife Flavia, his brother Alessandro and his son Vittore proudly carry on their ancestors' tradition and passion for wine making.

97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2019 Barolo Monvigliero shows a medium dark garnet appearance with an especially focused quality of fruit. There is wild cherry and Japanese plum, but the Monvigliero cru also delivers crushed rose, earthy iris root, candied orange peel with clove and dustings of black pepper. The wine is exceedingly silky and polished in texture, but its inherent complexity is never diminished.

96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

The 2019 Barolo Monvigliero is layered with cinnamon, red cherry, white pepper, and apricot and is dry, elegant, and medium-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins and mouthwatering salinity. Revealing notes of orange pith, warming spice, and pomegranate seed, it is long on the palate with a linear approach.

93 Points - James Suckling

Aromas of dark cherries, red licorice, sandalwood and chocolate nibs with a bark undertone. Full-bodied with depth and concentration to the fruit and polished, slightly tight and chewy tannins. Hints of bitter spices, dried orange and tar at the end.
