Product description
Behind every Frescobaldi wine lies the passion of agronomists and oenologists, who know their vineyards and terroirs down to the finest detail. Their art of creating quality wines requires the iron rule of respect. Respect for tradition, which guides them, even in the midst of innovation or avant-garde solutions. Respect for Tuscany, the living land, to be cultivated in harmony and serenity. Respect for each individual terroir, borne of a unique combination of soil, altitude and microclimate, each giving us a wine with its own matchless personality.

Montesodi 2016 is immediately characterized by an extremely elegant bright ruby red colour. The bouquet confirms its appeal. opening with notes of cherry blossom, violet and hibiscus, followed by fruits such as blackcurrant and blackberry. This gives way to an elegant spiciness, with notes of licorice and pepper. The wine has excellent minerality and fantastically well-integrated light graphite notes. The palate opens with freshness and develops into greater density. The tannins are silky and mature, and the finish is long, juicy and enticing. Sangiovese still has the ability to thrill me, decades later.

94 Points - James Suckling

The aromas of cherries and flowers show nicely on the nose and palate. Medium body. Firm and silky tannins. Fresh finish. Finesse and drinkability here. Drink or hold.

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast

This smooth, savoury Sangiovese has aromas of ripe black plum, violet menthol and a whiff of the forest floor. The velvety, full-bodied palate opens with ripe blackberry, Marasca cherry, baking spice and licorice before tightly knit, close-grained tannins show up and leave a firm finish.
