Multi-award winning Glenfarclas Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky has been distilled on Speyside for six generations by one family – the Grants. The Glenfarclas Distillery was legally established in 1836, on the Recherlich Farm at Ballindalloch, in the heart of Speyside. In 1865, John Grant purchased the distillery for £511. Situated in the heart of Speyside – malt whisky country – Glenfarclas, translated from the Gaelic as “Glen of the green grassland”, nestles at the foot of the Ben Rinnes mountain.
The family-run distillery released this Glenfarclas Single Cask Whisky from 2000 in the summer of 2022 for their Family Casks series. The single malt whisky spent its cask aging from 2000 to 2022 in Sherry Butt 3286. The distillery bottled the Scotch at cask strength at 52.8% by volume. As a natural Scotch, it also comes without coloring and chill filtration. There are 621 bottles of Scotch for sale worldwide.
The single cask whisky has a nose with sherry. It smells of dried fruits and citrus fruits. Raisins penetrate and meet chocolate. Slight sharpness is present.
Creamy on the tongue. It tastes like plums and raisins. Nuts and dried fruit come through. Oak initiates the departure. The finish is long-lasting. The Scotch leaves complex with notes of sherry, nuts, plums and peppery spice.
