Product description

Hahn Estate founders Nicky and Gaby Hahn first came to the Santa Lucia Highlands in the late 1970s, and the Swiss-born couple quickly recognized the region’s potential to produce wines of exceptional nuance and character, worthy of attention on the world stage.

Vineyards planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands experience a long and dry growing season that results in wines with remarkable depth, complexity and ripe fruit flavors. Hahn’s SLH vineyards – Lone Oak, Doctor’s, Smith and Hook – are planted on a narrow bench at elevations ranging from 200 to 1,200 feet above sea level. Here, plentiful sun and well-drained soils aid concentration and flavor development.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast   Ripe cherry fruit is cut by touches of rust and turned soil on the inviting nose of this bottling. The mouthfeel is thick and grippy, carrying rounded berry flavors, a hint of baking spice and some dried thyme on the back end.

90 Points - Wine Spectator    Offering a mix of dried berry, black tea, spice and loamy earth flavors, this succeeds, delivering moderately ripe fruit and loamy tannins. Best from 2019 through 2024.
