J Boutin Crozes Hermitage Les Hauts Granites

Crozes Hermitage is a well-known commune in the Rhone Valley's northern reaches. Les Hauts Granites vineyards are located in the north, on steep hills on the Rhone's western bank. Granite and slate make up the soil here. On hot summer days, it's hot here, but the mistral keeps things cool, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly.

This lovely ruby red wine exemplifies the winery's style: full-bodied, but with a lovely elegance and drinkability. An explosion of red and black fruit on the aroma, with a noticeable spiciness and earthy flavours. The flavour is round and delicate, with good concentration, ripe tannins, and a surprising freshness.
