Product description
Pio Cesare’s single-vineyard Barolo Mosconi comes from a small selection of the oldest Nebbiolo vines of the family-owned vineyards in Monforte d’Alba, one of the most prestigious areas of the entire Barolo region. The area is known for wines with great complexity, elegance and longevity.
Grapes were fermented in stainless steel at high temperatures, then left to macerate on skins for 30 days. The wine aged in oak ‘botte’ for 30 months, with a small amount in French oak barrels for the first 12 months.
This is a deep and complex wine – age-worthy Nebbiolo of the highest order.
96 Points - James Suckling
This is so curated and fine, with a tannin structure that is both sophisticated and racy. Medium to full body. Silky texture with a finish that just takes off. Rose stems and dark fruit, such as plums and strawberries. Some black truffles, too. These are from vineyards planted in 1960 and 1970.
