Abrica de Tequilas produced and distilled this blanco Tequila using agave cooked for 10 hours in steam-powered autoclaves. After the addition of special yeast, the batch was then fermented and moved into stainless steel pots for double distillation. To blend this blanco, Rooster Rojo used water filtered through Mexican silver, creating its sumptuously smooth profile.
Nose: Cracked black pepper adds depth to the light and floral opening, with a helping of lime zest. Vanilla pod notes, menthol and lemon pith are also present.
Palate: The palate adds herbaceous tones of vegetal agave, tomato leaf and whispers of oak influence among hazelnuts, more vanilla and bruised pears.
Finish: The peppery agave returns, flanked by touches of icing sugar.
