Il Poggione's 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is a distinguished Italian red wine hailing from the renowned Montalcino region in Tuscany. Established in the late 1800s, Tenuta Il Poggione is one of Montalcino's largest and most historic wineries, encompassing 600 hectares, with 125 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The estate has been under the stewardship of the Franceschi family for generations, currently led by Leopoldo and Livia Franceschi, who continue to uphold a tradition of producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
This Riserva is crafted exclusively from Sangiovese grapes harvested from the 'I Paganelli' vineyard, the estate's oldest vineyard planted in 1964. The wine showcases an intense ruby-red color and offers an elegant bouquet with notes of red fruit, leather, and spices. On the palate, it is persistent and balanced, with a long and seductive finish. The wine was aged for 48 months in large French oak barrels, contributing to its complexity and depth.
