Kavalan Solist Ex-Bourbon Year Of The Ox 2021

General Information

This is the second bottling in the Truth Malters’ Lunar Zodiac Series, following last year’s Year of the Rat Kavalan Peated release. The OX has long been a symbol of power in Chinese culture and considered to be a more hopeful and fruitful year. 57.1% alc./vol.

Nose: Met with Kavalan signature tropical fruit notes including apricots, pineapples, bananas coconut and tangerines. Then sweet citrus, vanilla, icing sugar, marshmallows and honeycombs.

Palate: Hit with a soft spice quickly drowned in tropical fruits. Coconut, honey and vanilla cover the palate, with spices and the complementing sweetness of crushed banana. Each sip brings out more spice, vanilla and honey. The first few sips you get that high cask strength abv% taste, and after a few minutes, opens to an enjoyable citrus sweetness.

Finish: The finish is a well-balanced natural spicy sweetness, complex but smooth with spices and tropical fruits. A beautiful citrus taste on your palate throughout the long finish.
