Malecon Rare Proof 20 Year Old Rum

Malecon is a label of rums produced generally produced in vintage years but here given an age statement rather than a date for the 20 year expression and also bottled at a heady 96+ proof. It is produced out of Panama and intended to be made in the Cuban style under the specifications of former rum master of Havana Club, Ronero Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez. The rum is made from a molasses base made on site from locally cut sugar cane.

Brilliant bronze colour. Aromas and flavours of molasses, spiced raisins, and chocolate nuts with a glycerous, crisp, fruity sweet fat body and a warming, complex, long cane stalk, minerals, and copper finish. A sweet and layered sipping rum that is sure to please.
