Product description
Bodega Chacra, founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, is located in the Río Negro Valley of Patagonia, Argentina. Piero, the grandson of the creator of the legendary Sassicaia, established the estate to produce wines that authentically express Mainqué’s distinct terroir. Collaborating with renowned Burgundian winemaker Jean-Marc Roulot, the winery employs organic and biodynamic practices to craft wines of elegance and precision.
Wine Description
The 2023 'Mainqué' Chardonnay displays a luminous straw-yellow hue. The nose reveals layers of apple, brioche, flint, pear, and slate, complemented by subtle hints of apple tart. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied richness with a vertical, deep character. Fermented in barrel without undergoing malolactic fermentation and aged for 11 months in barrique, the wine showcases fresh fruit flavors balanced by a saline minerality and a long, refined finish.
