Product description

Château Haut Brion stands as a prestigious First Growth estate in Bordeaux's Pessac Léognan subregion of Graves. With a history dating back to the 16th century, it has been under the ownership of Domaine Clarence Dillon since 1935. Renowned for its pioneering approach, Château Haut Brion masterfully blends tradition with innovation to consistently deliver wines of exceptional finesse and longevity.

Wine Description
The 2021 Château Haut Brion displays a vibrant ruby hue, offering a remarkably fresh and aromatic profile. The nose reveals lifted notes of redcurrant, cranberry, graphite, and subtle floral accents, underpinned by delicate hints of cedar and smoke. Composed of approximately 50% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Cabernet Franc, the palate is elegant and precise, with bright red fruit, refined tannins, and a linear, mineral-driven structure. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it finishes with a savoury, persistent length. This vintage will benefit from cellaring, with an optimal drinking window from 2028 to 2050.

Vintage Quality
The 2021 Bordeaux vintage faced significant challenges, including frost and mildew pressure, leading to reduced yields. However, thanks to meticulous vineyard work and precise winemaking, Château Haut Brion crafted a wine that emphasises purity, freshness, and finesse, standing out as one of the vintage's finest expressions.
