Studies with winemaking legends in wineries both at home and abroad only whetted Tuck’s appetite to create a wine of his own. After making Tuck Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignon in 1997 to critical acclaim, collectors and connoisseurs asked for more. That demand continues today. His Semper Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays are among the highest rated and most critically acclaimed Sonoma Coast wines produced today. Melee Grenache was hailed an “elegant expression of the land and a joy in the glass.” His Mockingbird and Tuck Beckstoffer Cabernets have been praised as “wines of remarkable character. A treasure to drink and to collect.” 

Tuck Beckstoffer's Seventy Five Wine Company has been championed as “pedigreed wine for people who are above pedigree.”  Many found inspiration in 1975: Bill Gates founded Microsoft, Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace, the first episode of Saturday Night Live debuted, and The Beckstoffer family set up shop in Napa Valley. The Seventy-Five Wine Company was founded to perpetuate and honor the inspiration of that landmark year.

The 2019 SUM is a unique and stylistic blend of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, from Beckstoffer Feliz Creek Vineyard, with select Rhone varietals, including old vine Petite Sirah,  that make up a bold proprietary cuvee where the finished wine is bigger than the sum of its parts. Aromas of dried lavender and fresh ground peppercorn fill the glass. The wine coats the mouth with flavors of fresh blackberries and crushed cherry. The finish is soft and lingering with a hint of cocoa and rose petal. 

Enjoy this wine with cassoulet, oven roasted root vegetables, grilled mushrooms and smoked brisket.
