Product description
The 2019 Pintia is a red wine from the Toro appellation in Spain, produced by the renowned Bodegas y Viñedos Pintia, part of the Vega Sicilia family. Crafted from 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) grapes, this vintage exemplifies the bold character and elegance associated with the region.
Vineyard and Production
The 2019 vintage experienced a hot and dry growing season, with timely rainfall just before harvest aiding in grape maturation. Grapes were hand-harvested between September 18 and October 1, 2019, from vines averaging 35 years in age, situated at an altitude of 700 meters. Fermentation occurred in both stainless steel and oak vats using indigenous yeasts. To preserve freshness and fruit purity, 15% of the wine was aged in large containers, while the remainder matured in French and American oak barrels for 12 months.

Serving and Cellaring
To fully appreciate its complexity, decant the 2019 Pintia for at least an hour before serving at 18°C (64°F). This wine pairs exceptionally well with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. While approachable now, it possesses the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 15 years, rewarding those who choose to cellar it.
