In Eastern Venezuela there is still talk of Rodolfo Esteban Gil. Although people do not know him by that name, they do know him by his nickname, Calazan. A nickname given by the loves that marked his youth, but the founders true passion was Venezuelan rum, a dream he never gave up. The legend began in Nueva Colombia, near Carúpano, with the country’s first large sugar cane farm. Rodolfo’s ingenuity and tenacity led him to create Calazan Premium Venezuelan Rum.
A blend of 16 rums aged for a minimum of 6 years in ex-bourbon barrels, beer barrels, ex-rum barrels and new white American Oak barrels.
