Product description
BEARFACE Elementally Aged Triple Oak is a Canadian whisky that undergoes a unique maturation process involving three distinct types of oak casks, resulting in a complex and flavorful profile.
Production Process
-
Initial Aging: The whisky begins with a 7-year maturation in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, imparting foundational flavors of honey, butter, and vanilla.
-
Secondary Maturation: It is then aged in French oak red wine casks, which contribute notes of dried fruits and a rich, reddish hue.
-
Final Finishing: The final stage involves air-dried virgin Hungarian oak casks, toasted to three different levels, adding unique spice characteristics and a gentle smokiness.
This process, termed "Elemental Aging," involves maturing the whisky in repurposed shipping containers exposed to the Canadian wilderness, allowing the extreme climate to influence the interaction between the whisky and the wood.
Tasting Notes
-
Nose: Aromas of crème brûlée, vanilla custard, and black currants, offering a rich and inviting scent.
-
Palate: Flavors of maple sugar candy, light milk chocolate, and a hint of raspberry, delivering a sweet and silky mouthfeel.
-
