Product description
The 2022 El Enemigo Chardonnay is a white wine from the Gualtallary region in Mendoza, Argentina. Crafted by winemakers Alejandro Vigil and Adrianna Catena, this Chardonnay exemplifies the unique terroir of high-altitude vineyards and innovative winemaking techniques.
Vineyard and Production
Sourced from vineyards situated at approximately 1,400 meters above sea level in Gualtallary, the vines are over 20 years old and thrive in calcareous soils. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented using wild yeasts in 500-liter French oak barrels, 35% of which are new. The wine undergoes a 12-month aging process under a veil of flor, a technique reminiscent of Fino Sherry production, imparting distinctive saline and nutty characteristics.
