Product description

Livio Felluga Vertigo Rosso 2022 is a red wine from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in northeastern Italy, produced by the esteemed Livio Felluga winery. This wine embodies the region's diversity by blending traditional and international grape varieties.

Blend Composition:

  • Merlot

  • Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes:

  • Color: Bright, clear ruby red.

  • Aroma: Generous and refined, with upfront notes of dog rose and red fruits like currants, raspberries, and wild blackberries, mingling with citrus hints of blood orange and tangerine zest. Distinctive yellow pepper peel and spicy pink pepper intertwine with the sweetness of cinnamon, cloves, and licorice root.

  • Palate: Dynamic and intuitive, featuring refreshing waves of citrus, small wild berries, and black cherries. A delightfully mouthfilling, close-knit tannic texture with top notes of dark spice, tobacco leaves, and Criollo cocoa beans. The finish is lingering, with a bitterish hint reminiscent of freshly toasted Arabica beans.

Winemaking Process:

  • Fermentation: Carefully destemmed and crushed grapes undergo fermentation with maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures in stainless steel containers.

  • Aging: The wine matures in stainless steel and small French oak barrels, followed by bottle aging in temperature-controlled cellars.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Temperature: Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).

  • Food Pairings: Pairs well with savory first courses, roast pork and beef, meat dishes, or moderately mature cheeses.
