Cascahuín Plata 48 Tequila is a high-proof, unaged artisanal spirit originating from El Arenal in the Valles (Lowlands) region of Jalisco, Mexico. Distilled at the legendary Cascahuín Distillery (NOM 1123) under the leadership of Master Distiller Salvador Rosales Trejo and his family, the brand carries a rich history dating back to 1955. The expression pays tribute to the distillery's founder, Salvador Rosales Briseño, showcasing an undiluted, still-strength presentation that celebrates traditional agave production.

Spirit Description

Cascahuín Plata 48 is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave slow-cooked in traditional masonry brick ovens. The agaves are crushed using a combination of a roller mill and a traditional mechanical roller, then fermented in open-air masonry tanks where wild yeasts contribute natural complexity. Double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills with copper coils, the liquid is bottled undiluted (or minimally adjusted) directly at 48% ABV without chill filtration, preserving its full spectrum of natural essential oils.

• Colour: Crystal clear, luminous, and brilliant with dense tear drops on the glass.

• Aroma: Vibrant, rich, and deeply expressive. The nose opens with intense cooked agave, wet stone minerality, fresh mint, and citrus zest (lemon and dried lime peel), complemented by black pepper, cardamom, and subtle hints of honey and tropical fruit.

• Palate: Bold, full-flavored, and beautifully balanced despite the elevated proof. Upfront flavors of sweet roasted agave, spearmint, and lime blend seamlessly into earthy minerality, white pepper spice, fresh herbs, and light vegetal tones.

• Body: Full-bodied with a rich, creamy, and mouth-coating viscosity that delivers a velvety texture.

• Finish: Long, warm, and tingling, tapering off with lingering notes of cracked black pepper, sweet agave, crushed herbs, and refreshing mineral earthiness.
