Product description
Hailing from the sun drenched hills of Tuscany, Italy, Castello Romitorio 'Romitorio Toscana' is a bold and expressive Super Tuscan. Established in 1987 by famed Italian artist Sandro Chia, the estate has long been celebrated for fusing creative freedom with rigorous winemaking traditions.
Wine Description
This deeply concentrated red blend is crafted from equal parts Syrah and Petit Verdot, sourced from the wild hills of Scansano and vinified at the estate's Montalcino facility. In the glass, it reveals an intense garnet-red hue. The nose offers a rich, complex bouquet of blackberry, boysenberry, and ripe red plums, layered with nuanced aromas of lavender, dried flowers, violet, cracked white pepper, and a hint of smoky bacon fat. On the full bodied palate, the wine is supple, tense, and beautifully integrated, showcasing polished, silky tannins and a lively acidity that keeps the dark fruit profile vibrant and fresh.
Food Pairing
The robust structure, dark fruit core, and complex herbal undertones of this blend make it an exceptional match for hearty, savory dishes such as roasted venison, grilled prime rib, or slow braised wild boar ragu.
