Chapoutier Chateauneuf du Pape Barbe Rac 2008

A cherry red look to the '08 Barbe Rac. Incredibly sexy nose of raspberries that are super ripe but not candied mind you. There's also seaweed and soil along with a hint of oregano that, with time, becomes more than just a hint, perhaps a notion. As good as the nose is the palate is even better with silky tannins that feel like pine needles that have been folded and your tongue is being tapped with the obtuse end. The finish is long.
