Product description
In 2006, Chateau Domeyne was bought by Claire Villars-Lurton, owner of Chateau Haut-Bages Liberal and her husband Gonzague Lurton, owner of Chateau Durfort-Vivens. Their aim is to raise the château to be amongst the best in Saint-Estephe. The vineyards, located on a big gravel hill, surrounds the vineyard of Chateau Calon-Segur. The blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and the wine spends a year in oak barrels. The nose has delicate notes of red fruits and spices; the palate is full-bodied and powerful, showing with the typical freshness of the vintage.
93 Points - James Suckling A very impressive wine with a ton of tannic power, but also great balance thanks to the fresh acidity. A beautifully made wine that you could easily mistake for a classed growth. With more complexity this would rate even more highly. You can drink it now, but there’s no hurry with this one!
