Dal Forno Romano Amarone della Valpolicella 2017

Product description

This is a powerful, elegant and vigorous wine, as conceived by the founder of this wonderful business in Val d’Illasi, an ancient and evocative territory that bears witness to the profound ties between humans and nature. You'll find this passion in Amarone Dal Forno Romano, a true meditative masterpiece.

The grapes that bring this emblematic wine to life are Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina but only grapes harvested from vineyards that are at least ten years old are destined for the Amarone. This wine is also distinguished by how long the grapes are dried three months, double the usual duration for Valpolicella.  The result is a truly exciting explosion of power and elegance.

96 Points - James Suckling

Lots of dried black fruit on the nose and palate, together with hints of black licorice, toasted walnuts and gentler notes of dried flowers and herbs. Full-bodied palate that’s very silky to start, then the firm, very fine tannins kick in a bit and pick up the fruit, carrying it through the long finish.
