Wine Description

The wine presents an opaque, deep dark ruby violet colour with brilliant magenta highlights along the rim. An expressive, highly perfumed bouquet opens with regal aromas of cassis, dark black cherry, wild blackberry, and ripe blueberry, interwoven with sophisticated notes of graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf, violet petals, mocha, and subtle toasted French oak spice. On the palate, it is full bodied, rich, and seamlessly balanced, delivering concentrated flavours of black currant, dark plum, and mineral graphite, all anchored by a vibrant, mouthwatering spine of natural acidity. Framed by fine-grained, polished, and structural tannins that reflect Puente Alto's gravelly soils, it concludes with an exceptionally long, persistent finish marked by lingering dark berry fruit, sweet spice, and a noble savory elegance. Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with small blending additions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, this 2022 release offers an optimal drinking window of 2027–2045+.
