Product description

Viñedo Chadwick represents the materialization of a long-cherished desire on the part of the Chadwick family to honor the memory of the late Don Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz with an ultra Premium red wine that expresses the lineage, tradition and experience of the Chadwick-Errázuriz family in the production of fine wines that reflect the family passion for excellence. The objective is to make an elegant wine, with freshness and purity, that shows the Maipo Valley at its best. Although Don Alfonso never saw the finished wine, he is remembered in every bottle of Viñedo Chadwick.

Since its first 1999 vintage was launched in 2002, Viñedo Chadwick has consistently received the highest praise and accolades, including being ranked by Robert Parker as the highest-scoring Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon for five consecutive years.

The 2014 vintage marked a milestone in the history of Chilean wine, as well as for the family winery. In May 2016, Viñedo Chadwick 2014 obtained a perfect score of 100 points, becoming the first Chilean wine to receive the highest recognition worldwide.

The 2008 Vinedo Chadwick has an attractive purplish ruby red colour with a complex nose of sour cherries, tobacco, cedar, sweet spices, coffee, and cassis. The palate confirms the impressions on the nose and continues with flavours of red fruit and cedar. Very fine, ripe tannins lead to a dense, mouth filling wine that promises to age very well in the bottle. This is a wine in which its well-rounded character, elegance, and complexity come together with a fine finish full of subtleties.

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate    The 2008 Vinedo Chadwick is made up of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot. It offers up a sexy perfume of exotic spices, sandalwood, incense, rose petal, black currant, and blackberry. This sets the stage for a structured, concentrated, impeccably balanced wine that deftly combines elegance and power. It mandates 5-6 years of additional cellaring and will deliver prime drinking from 2016 to 2028+.

94 Points - James Suckling    A red with very ripe red fruit plus hints of herbs at the same time. Rose petal and lavender too. Full-bodied, round and velvety structured. Dark fruit and flowers, plus intensity. 97% cabernet sauvignon with a dash of merlot. So much excitement here.

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast     Round, dark and impressive, with deep berry aromas, minerality, smokiness and a hint of herbs and tomato. The palate is jammy and rich, what you might call syrupy, but there's still plenty of spine and structure. Tastes rich, jammy and masculine, with blackberry, coffee and spice notes. Drink now through 2017.
