Finca Villacreces Pruno 2019

Product description

Deep, black cherry color. Aromas of red fruit embodied with toffee oaky hints from the ageing in French barrel revealing a sweet and fruity wine on the mouth. Reminiscences of ripen fruit and liquorice. It offers up a pleasant and soft aftertaste.

92 Points - James Suckling    Very ripe, bright, black fruits and tar aromas pour from the glass. Big and juicy, but the tannins are stronger than the sweet stuff. Long, clean finish and a lot of potential.

90 Points - Wine Spectator   Rich yet lively, this red delivers ripe flavors of boysenberry and black plum, backed by leafy and orange peel notes and a minerally, smoky finish. Ripe tannins are well-integrated and crisp. Fruity acidity keeps this fresh. Drink now through 2025.

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate    The just-bottled 2015 Pruno is a young, fruit-driven and straightforward blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon from young and older vines in their 63-hectare organically-farmed estate, located around the winery by the river Duero. 2015 was a very warm year and the wine is ripe without excess, juicy and tasty, with a minty and chocolate touch perhaps from the one year it spent in oak barrels. No less than 395,000 bottles and 2,015 magnums were produced in 2015, so this should be readily available, and as always represents a good value in Ribera del Duero.
