Grant Burge Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon 5th Generation

Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc complement each other and coalesce into a delightful accord when made just right. Two of the Barossa Valley's oldest plantings, with vines that are up to 100 years old, provide a portion of the 5th Generation wine. These great old sites produce Semillon that is endowed with exceptional intensity and character. Semillon's silky richness and seductive aroma combine seductively with Sauvignon Blanc's pungency. After being subjected to a lavish medley of vinification processes, the finished wine exhibits remarkable balance.

Lemon green hue. Lifted aromas of citrus and melon, delicately interwoven with subtle herbaceous notes. The palate is fresh and lively, ripe tropical fruit flavours, zesty lime and a soft creamy lemon curd finish. The time spent by Semillon on lees has rounded the palate, adding an extra dimension to the wine. 5th Generation is best enjoyed young, the perfect match to crustacea and fresh fish.
