Product description

Gustave Lorentz Gewurztraminer 'Evidence' originates from the Alsace region of France, where the Lorentz family has cultivated vines in the village of Bergheim since 1836. The estate is deeply committed to sustainability, having transitioned all of its owned vineyard property to organic viticulture beginning in 2009, with full certification achieved by 2012. The 'Evidence' line represents the winery’s dedication to producing wines that prioritize freshness, balance, and purity, reflecting the unique terroir of their clay-limestone hillside plots while avoiding the "heaviness" sometimes associated with the variety.

Wine Description

This white wine exhibits a clear, pale-to-golden yellow appearance in the glass, with a structure characterized by its ample, round, and full-bodied nature. The sensory profile is highly expressive and aromatic, featuring a classic, intense bouquet of lychee, rose petals, and delicate spices such as cinnamon. On the palate, it delivers a powerful, sophisticated experience that balances vibrant fruit flavors—including hints of citrus and mango—with a taut, fresh acidity that prevents the wine from becoming cloying. The finish is remarkably long and lingering, maintaining a consistent impression of exotic spice and floral purity.

  • Varietal Composition: 100% Gewürztraminer.

  • Stylistic Notes: The wine is vinified to be off-dry (typically containing residual sugar between 16 and 25 g/L depending on the vintage), which provides a rich, opulent texture while maintaining gastronomic versatility.

  • ABV: Typically ranges from 14% to 14.6% depending on the specific harvest year.

  • Organic Status: Certified organic (FR-BIO-01).
