From a growing season that was among the coolest and most late-ripening in recent years, Le Serre Nuove 2010 exhibits truly stunning aromatics. A vigorous Cabernet Sauvignon and a fruit-rich, lusciously-rounded Merlot compose a balanced Cuvee marked by fragrant tobacco leaf, intense fruit notes and spices. The palate is firmly-structured and complex, with silky tannins and remarkable aromatic richness, and the progression concludes in a long, firm finish.
Blend: 45% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot

The 2010 Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia shows off tons of concentration and sheer depth. Mocha, espresso, dark cherries and plums are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. 2010 is a decidedly powerful, virile wine endowed with considerable power. It will be interesting to see how the layers of flavour flesh out once the wine has been bottled. For now, 2010 is a highly promising Serre Nuove. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027.
