The Masi Angelorum Recioto della Valpolicella Classico is one of the historic, red dessert wines of the Valpolicella region. Here, the ancient traditional grapes of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, are picked in hillside sites to be laid out for Appassimento on bamboo racks in drying lofts during the winter months.
The grapes shrink in the drying process to make aromatic, fruity wines that are smooth and refined, with a wonderful balance of alcohol, sugar and structure. Dark ruby red in colour the wine displays aromas of cooked cherries and fruits preserved in spirit.
The palate is complex and long with an attractive mixture of sweetness and acidity. The Angelorum is excellent as an after-dinner wine and the perfect partner to desserts with fruit, tarts, pastries and panettone and is also good with gorgonzola cheese.
