Product description

McManis Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine from the Lodi region in the Northern Interior of California, United States. Founded in 1990 by fourth generation family farmers Ron and Jamie McManis, the company has been growing grapes in the area since 1938. Their winemaking philosophy is centered on producing quality wines at an honest price by utilizing small-winery techniques, such as whole-cluster pressing and small-lot handling, at a larger scale.

Wine Description

This wine exhibits a dark garnet colour with a bouquet that is full of blueberry, black cherry, and blackberry notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a juicy and creamy texture, featuring flavours of dark berries, blackcurrant, and a touch of mocha or chocolate. It is characterized by its rounded tannins and integrated oak influence, which contributes a hint of smoke to the finish. The typical varietal composition includes approximately 75% to 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out with Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, and occasionally Teroldego for added body and texture. The ABV is 13.5% and the wine is produced using sustainable farming practices certified under the Lodi Rules program. Its optimal drinking window is while it is young and fresh, usually within 1 to 5 years of the vintage.
