Product description

Bond's St. Eden originates from an 11-acre rocky knoll situated just north of the Oakville Crossroad. The iron-rich, red, rocky, volcanic soil of this north-facing site originates from high in the Vaca Mountains. The 2019 vintage exemplifies the vineyard's distinctive terroir, offering a harmonious balance of aromatic brightness, focus, and nuance.

Tasting Notes

Color: Deep ruby red with a purple tinge.
Nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, cassis, wild cherry, and leafy herbaceous notes, complemented by sweet oak spices.
Palate: Rich and velvety texture with ripe firm tannins, vibrant acid backbone, and flavors of blackcurrant, wild cherry, and sweet oak spices.
Finish: Elegant and classy with a beautiful mouthfeel, leading to a long, satisfying finish.

Optimal Drinking Window

2027–2045. While approachable now, this wine will benefit from additional aging to fully develop its complexity and depth.

Serving Suggestions

Decanting: 3 hours to allow the wine to fully express its aromatics and texture.
Serving Temperature: 16–18°C (60–64°F) for optimal enjoyment.
Pairings: Pairs exceptionally well with Wagyu beef fillet, grilled kohlrabi, Jerusalem artichoke purée, and beef sauce. Alternatively, enjoy with grilled red meats accompanied by soft tacos and BBQ sauce.
