The name on the vintage western label came from Ken’s two son’s middle names, Tyrus and Evan. Ken created the label for his two sons to enter the winemaking business in the future. Fast forward 15 years and both Ken’s sons have pursued their own careers in the Oregon wine industry, but Ken still continues with the TE label for the opportunity to work with world class Syrah fruit from Seven Hills Vineyard in the Walla Walla AVA.
The only American Viticultural Area that is located in two states: Oregon and Washington! It straddles southeast Washington State and northeast Oregon, about 250 miles east of Portland, and is bordered to the southeast by the Blue Mountains, to the north by the Palouse, and to the west by the Columbia River. This is the epicentre of amazing Rhone varieties, with Syrah flourishing in particular.
