Product description
Founded in 2002, Bodegas El Nido is a joint venture between the Gil family of Jumilla’s Juan Gil winery and renowned Australian winemaker Chris Ringland. The winery quickly gained prestige for producing bold, expressive wines from old-vine Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its philosophy centres on low yields, meticulous vineyard management, and the crafting of concentrated, age-worthy wines from the arid, sun-soaked region of Jumilla.
This vintage of 'Clio' reveals a deep, nearly opaque purple core with a garnet rim. The nose is intense and captivating, showing notes of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plums, intertwined with layers of mocha, vanilla, liquorice, and a hint of crushed rock. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with polished tannins and a rich concentration of dark fruit, cocoa, and spice. The structure is firm yet balanced, with remarkable freshness and a persistent, slightly savoury finish.
