Godet Pineau Des Charentes Blanc XO

Product description
Pineau des Charentes is one of Cognac's specialities and the Godet Pineau Vieux XO is an outstanding example of the quality of this fortified wine style. The wine, which is consumed by locals both as an aperitif and after dinner, is made by mixing lightly fermented grape must with Cognac eaux-de-vie. This blend is then placed in oak barrels and often matured for several years. The assignation ‘vieux’ indicates a maturation period of over five years. The result is an intense concentration of sun-ripened fruits combined with the richness of the Cognac terroir, creating a wonderfully fruity, sweet and soft liqueur.

Founded in 1782, the House of Godet ranges amongst the oldest Cognac houses. The Godet family has been based in the seaside town and former trading hub La Rochelle for 400 years and since the very beginnings of Cognac production, they have played an important role in perfecting this culture. Cognac Godet has been in the hands of the same family for an astonishing 15 generations, who have placed tradition and excellence at the heart of their business. Godet is also one of the few Cognac producers who focus on cultivating and using the Folle Blanche grape variety, the original Cognac grape. The Godet family's expertise in wine-making results in outstanding wine and Pineau de Charentes as well as Cognac - an excellent standing for a family-run company. The business is headed by Godet president Jean-Jacques Godet, assisted by his three sons Jean Eduard, Maxime and Cyril.

Shown in a tall, elegant bottle, this expression is simplicity itself. The gold foil and subdued colors on the label perfectly accentuate the liquid contained inside. Like most Pineau de Charentes, this is best served chilled as an aperitif or in cocktails.
