Hardys Eileen Hardy Shiraz 2018

Product description

Hardy’s is a large wine producer with extensive vineyard resources and a long and distinguished history of winemaking in South Australia. Founded in 1853 by winemaking pioneer Thomas Hardy, the company has grown considerably in size and stature over the years gaining a solid reputation primarily for commercial wines.

The original Eileen Hardy Shiraz was first released in 1973 to mark family matriarch Eileen Hardy's 80th birthday. After an initial switch in the mid to late 1970s to Cabernet Sauvignon blends, the wine has evolved from a multi-regional blend to an entirely McLaren Vale derived Shiraz based on half-century to century-old vineyards.

Complex and vibrant aromas of chocolate, leather, black olive, plum, mulberry and blueberry. A densely flavoured wine exhibiting layers of flavour and complexity. Intense dark chocolate, ripe blueberry and plum mixed in with licorice, peat and roasted coffee beans. The palate rounds out with fine silky tannins, majestic balance and remarkable persistence of flavour.
