Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Straight Rye is produced from a mash bill that meets the legal requirements for a straight rye, meaning it contains at least 51% rye grain. It is aged in fire-charred, new American white oak barrels. The whiskey has a rich, golden amber colour. On the nose, it is spicy and complex, offering aromas of dark fruit, plum, brown sugar, cinnamon, and subtle notes of tobacco and rye. The palate is full-bodied and soft, with a harmonious balance of deep spice and sweet fruit. It features notes of dark cherries, dried plum, honey, toffee, and a noticeable rye spice. The finish is long and dry, with warming pepper, balanced caramel, and a sweet, lingering spice. It is bottled at 42.4% ABV.
