Grgich Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Product description

Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned worldwide recognition when the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Committed to natural wine growing and sustainability, Grgich farms their five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, relies on wild yeast fermentation and uses their passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast

Black cherries, black olives, currants, and a touch of black pepper combine with firm tannins and a hearty, grippy mouthfeel in this full-bodied, classically styled wine. The wine has a heritage aura, like a great Cabernet from the 1980s, and will undoubtedly age well through at least 2033.

92 points -  James Suckling

Fruity nose of ripe currants, stewed raspberries, blackberries, coffee and mint chocolate. Full-bodied, rich and ripe with firm tannins. Chewy. From organically grown grapes. Try after 2023.
