Product description
Introduction
Henkell Sparkling Wine, specifically the Henkell Alcohol Free variety, originates from Wiesbaden, Germany. The winery was founded in 1832 by Adam Henkell and is currently owned by the Henkell Freixenet group, which is one of the leading sparkling wine producers in the world.
Description
This alcohol free sparkling wine presents a light yellow colour with green reflections and a fine, long lasting perlage. The aroma is fresh and fruity, featuring notes of pear, green apple, and peach, complemented by a subtle hint of vanilla. On the palate, it delivers a clean and crisp flavour profile with a well balanced sweetness and refreshing acidity. The body is light and elegant, leading to a smooth finish that maintains the character of a traditional Sekt. It contains 0% alcohol by volume.
Food Pairing
The vibrant effervescence and fruity structure of this sparkling wine make it a versatile partner for a variety of light dishes. It pairs exceptionally well with fresh seafood, shellfish, and light salads featuring citrus dressings. For a more substantial pairing, it complements spicy Asian cuisine and poultry dishes. It also serves as a delightful accompaniment to fruit based desserts or can be enjoyed alongside mild cheeses.
Distinctive Features
Henkell Alcohol Free is distinguished by its use of traditional winemaking techniques followed by a gentle vacuum distillation process to remove the alcohol while preserving the natural aromas. This process ensures that the wine retains its classic bouquet and lively character. The product is a mindful choice for health conscious consumers, as it contains significantly fewer calories than standard sparkling wine and is both vegan and gluten free.
Serving Suggestions
To enjoy this sparkling wine at its best, it should be served well chilled at a temperature between 6°C and 8°C. It is traditionally served in a flute glass to showcase the fine bubbles and concentrate the fruity aromas. Beyond being served on its own as a refined aperitif, it can also be used as a base for non alcoholic cocktails such as a 'Sparkling Berry Punch' or a 'Virgin Mimosa'.
