Product description

Chartreuse Green Liqueur is a legendary herbal spirit with a rich history, made in France in the Chartreuse Mountains of the Isère region, near Grenoble. The story of the liqueur begins in 1605, when an ancient manuscript containing a recipe for an 'elixir of long life' was gifted to the Carthusian monks near Paris. The recipe eventually reached the Grande Chartreuse monastery, where, after over a century of study, Brother Jérôme Maubec perfected the formula in 1737.

Wine Description

On the nose, it offers a powerful, herbaceous, and peppery bouquet with prominent notes of mint, pine sap, lemon zest, anise, and baking spices. The palate delivers a rush of complex flavours: it is initially sweet, evolving into a pungent, spicy, and strongly vegetal or herbaceous character. Notes often include mint, aniseed, pine, citrus, and a subtle medicinal quality, all contributing to its balanced complexity.

This bold and complex liqueur is traditionally enjoyed as a digestif, served neat and chilled, to fully appreciate its intense aromatic power.
