Trivento Eolo Malbec 2018

Product description

EOLO, the Keeper of the Winds, is the pinnacle of Triventos' pursuit of the best Malbec in Argentina. Found only in a small refuge in Lujan de Cuyo, the birthplace of premium Malbec, Eolo is brought to life by winemaker German Di Cesare.

German searched far and wide for a vineyard with such a remarkable story to tell. At a privileged point 3,200 feet above sea level, the Eolo vineyard, planted in 1912 by Italian immigrants whose ancestors still farm the vineyards today, spreads out above the northern bank of the Mendoza River. Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, this venerable Malbec vineyard captures these wizened vines' intense concentration and complexity. Today, like in ages past, the farmer's guiding hands and the winemaker's guiding vision bring Eolo to life so that each vintage reveals the terroirs' true expression.

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast

Great complexity on the nose with enticing floral, blackberry, plum and subtle oak notes. This red is concentrated and lively with firm and silky tannins. Due to the intelligent use of oak, the palate delivers plenty of dark fruit flavours with hints of smoke and nice acidity. It is an elegant, full-bodied wine made from 100-year-old vines and has a lingering finish with fruit flavours.
