Diplomatico Exclusive Reserve Rum

Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a world-renowned sipping rum from Venezuela, specifically produced in the Andes Mountains foothills near the town of Sarare. The distillery, Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA), was established in 1959 and was originally a joint venture involving Seagram's International. In 2002, a group of Venezuelan entrepreneurs led by the Ballesteros family acquired the facility, transforming it into a 100% locally owned operation that has since become a global benchmark for premium rum.

Spirit Description

This rum presents a deep, rich mahogany colour with golden reflections. The nose is complex and highly aromatic, offering characteristic notes of maple syrup, orange peel, brown sugar, and liquorice. On the palate, the body is luscious and velvety, delivering a symphony of sweet toffee fudge, chocolate, and tropical fruits, balanced by oaky spice and hints of vanilla. The finish is exceptionally long and elegant, leaving a persistent warmth of caramelized sugar and dark cocoa. It is a blend of copper pot still rums aged for up to 12 years and is bottled at 40% ABV.
