Product description

The Ricasoli estate, established in 1141, is Italy’s oldest winery and a cornerstone of Chianti Classico winemaking. Situated in Gaiole in Chianti, the Colledilà vineyard represents one of the most prestigious single-vineyard expressions of Sangiovese. Known for its limestone-rich alberese soils, the site produces wines of remarkable elegance and structure, reflecting both the region’s history and Ricasoli’s commitment to quality and innovation.

Wine Description

This 100% Sangiovese wine displays a brilliant ruby red hue with subtle garnet reflections. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of rose hips, blood oranges, ripe cherries, and red peach, layered with delicate floral undertones. The palate is polished and vibrant, showcasing juicy red fruit, refined minerality, and a fresh, elegant structure. Silky tannins and bright acidity contribute to its finesse, leading to a long, persistent finish. The wine is aged for 22 months in 500-litre tonneaux, with 30% new oak and 70% second-passage barrels, achieving a perfect balance of complexity and harmony.

Ideal with rich and flavorful dishes such as beef, veal, and pasta with meat-based sauces. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses and cured meats, enhancing the wine’s depth and character.

Vintage Quality

The 2020 vintage experienced a warm growing season, contributing to the wine’s ripe fruit expression. Despite the heat, the Colledilà vineyard’s limestone soils preserved freshness, allowing for an elegant and balanced final product. The winemaking team’s expertise ensured that the wine retained its signature structure and longevity, making it an exceptional vintage for aging.
