Product description
Representing the 'heartland' of California Pinot Noir, the Kosta Browne Pinot Noir 'Russian River' 2022 is a masterful blend of the region's most esteemed vineyard sites. The winery, founded in 1997 by Dan Kosta and Michael Browne with tip money saved from their restaurant jobs, has evolved into a global icon, cemented by its 2011 'Wine of the Year' title from Wine Spectator. Winemaker Julien Howsepian follows a philosophy of 'purity and finesse,' utilizing minimal intervention and precise timing to capture the soulful expression of the Russian River Valley's fog-drenched terroir.
Wine Description
This Pinot Noir presents a vibrant red colour, leading with captivating aromatics of dark red cherry, raspberry, and blueberry. On the palate, it is medium bodied and poised, balancing robust pomegranate and bramble fruit notes with a refreshing, lifted acidity. Aged for 16 months in a combination of 38% new French oak, neutral oak, and oak foudre, it develops a fine structure with subtle savory nuances of cedar, cassia bark, and dried herbs. The finish is remarkably long, robust, and enduring, showing a captivately elegant texture. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir.
