Product description
Produced in Italy’s Veneto region, the Masi Osar Oseleta 2015 is a rare and distinctive expression of a nearly forgotten varietal. Crafted by the prestigious Masi Agricola, a family-owned estate with a winemaking legacy dating back to the 18th century, this wine is a tribute to traditional techniques revitalized through innovation. Masi is renowned for its expertise in appassimento—the drying of grapes to concentrate flavour—a hallmark of their Amarone wines and also a component of this bottling.
This wine is made entirely from Oseleta, a rediscovered indigenous grape known for its deep colour and firm tannins. In the glass, it presents an intense, almost opaque ruby hue. The nose opens with powerful aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and dark cherry, interwoven with hints of licorice, clove, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied and bold, showing layers of ripe black fruit, spice, and earthy undertones. Tannins are muscular yet polished, balanced by a lively acidity.
